Welcome to our little space where we can update you on all the exciting things Nexus Tutoring has planned in the near future, introduce you to our growing team of tutors, giving advice for learning online or at home, and so much more!

Who We Are & What We Do

Nexus is run by a team of four university students who want to give high school students a helping hand in their studies. We know high school can be tough and the last two years of the pandemic has not made it any easier. We focus on providing holistic care, and strive to not only tutor content, but to look after the wellbeing of our students. We also aim to be able to bring our experiences in IB and NCEA into our tutoring, using our own experiences to better others so they don't make the same mistakes we did. Nexus Tutoring provides a wide range of subjects in both NCEA and IB, covering all major sciences, languages and social science subjects. Our lessons are all online to make it less of a hassle for everyone and also keep everyone safe during these challenging, uncertain times. You can find out more about the subjects we provide here.

The Nexus Launch Event

Recently, we had our launch event! It was amazing to meet all the parents and students who attended and we hope you all gained something from our presentation. We've provided below some of the most commonly asked questions that we received during the Q&A portion of our event!

Q: What is tutoring online like and is it as good as tutoring in person?

A: Our students have told us that tutoring online is no different to tutoring in person. We use many online tools such as screen sharing and whiteboards to make the lesson more interactive and accessible.

Q: Do you tutor all year levels in high school? Are tutors available after school hours during the weekday only or weekends too?

A: We tutor all high school year levels in NCEA and IB in a vast range of subjects. Our tutors are available to teach after school on weekdays and many are also available during the weekend as well.

Q: Am I able to get help outside class as well?

A: We have a private Facebook Group for our regular students. Students can ask questions in this group and one of our tutors will reply to them as soon as possible. Many of our tutors are also happy for students to directly contact them about dying questions outside of lessons if necessary.

Thank You for the Overwhelming Interest in Our Services!

We are so grateful for the enthusiasm and support we have received in our tutoring services and due to high demand, we are currently facing limited availability in many subjects especially in Physics and Chemistry. We apologise to the many parents and students who want tutoring from our team! We are working as fast as we can to bring more amazing tutors on board to join our team, so that we can help you. In the meantime, we have set up a waitlist for the subjects with limited availability. If you are interested in being tutored by us in these subjects, feel free to contact us and we will add you to our waitlist and notify you as soon as we have an available tutor.

We hope you have enjoyed reading our little blog post and we can't wait to share with you more fun tips, events, courses and introduce new members of our tutoring team as we grow this tutoring and coaching service. In the meantime, feel free to follow us on our social media pages (Facebook and Instagram) or join our mailing list (please see the contact us page) where you can get the latest updates from our company!

Have a wonderful day!
