Amelia Yamaguchi

Kia Ora! My name is Amelia and I am currently studying a Bachelor of Design, majoring in communication design and interaction design at AUT. In high school, I achieved NCEA Excellence endorsements in Levels 1, 2, and 3. I was also very grateful to receive the AUT Find Your Greatness All Rounder Scholarship and be awarded Top Scholar for Japanese in 2024.

Throughout school, I was involved in leadership and co-curricular groups such as Peer Support, the Peer Ethics Team, and the Senior A Girls’ Basketball team. These experiences have helped me become a patient and encouraging person, which are qualities I also bring into my tutoring.

I have been tutoring for over two years and genuinely love helping students build both their understanding and their confidence. I take a flexible approach, adapting my teaching style to suit each student’s learning needs. I believe that learning should feel encouraging instead of intimidating, and I strive to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.

Outside university, I love to be creative with my friends such as making art and designs, watch TV shows, and play the guitar I recently picked up!
