Cassandra Busing

Kia Ora! My name is Cassandra, and I am currently studying a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of Otago. My degree allows me to further explore my love of the sciences, and I bring that passion for learning into my tutoring.

During secondary school, I earned NCEA Excellence endorsements in Levels 1-3 and pushed myself academically by taking English exams at the level above, finishing with Scholarship in my final year. I was also honoured to receive the University of Otago Academic Excellence Entrance Scholarship, which only strengthened my love of learning and academic achievement.

In Year 13, I took the Introduction to Leadership paper at Waikato University and served as a Head of House at my college. These experiences helped me develop strong communication, organisation, and mentoring skills all of which are qualities I carry into my tutoring.

I am passionate about helping students become confident, self-sufficient learners. My tutoring style begins with helping students understand the bigger picture before breaking concepts down step by step to suit their individual learning styles. This approach ensures they grasp both the overall goal and the process needed to achieve it.

Outside of tutoring, I enjoy cooking, writing, spending time with friends, and a competitive board game night! I’m excited to help students reach their academic goals and have confidence in their own abilities.
