Josie Greenwood

Kia ora! My name is Josie, and I’m currently studying towards a Master of Engineering at the University of Auckland. I graduated last year with a BA/BSc in Mathematics, Physics, and Chinese, receiving both the Department of Physics Scholarship and the Top Achievers Scholarship. In my final year of high school, I was awarded Dux, first place in Level 3 Calculus, and NZQA Scholarship in Physics.

I’ve been working as a tutor for over seven years, during which I’ve developed a strong understanding of the NCEA curriculum and numerous strategies for communicating complex content. My teaching style is very flexible and adapts to each student’s preferences and ability level. I like to incorporate plenty of diagrams and visual aids, as I find they help students build intuition for a subject. 

In my free time, I try to spend as much time outdoors as possible—I love hiking, surfing, skiing, and trying new sports. I’m also very extroverted, and I love getting to know new people!
