Keita Takahashi
NCEA Tutor
Hello, my name is Keita!
I am currently studying a Bachelor of Laws / Bachelor of Commerce conjoint, majoring in Accounting and Finance. During my years in high school, I studied NCEA and I received excellence endorsement in all my courses: English, Statistics, History, Chemistry, Business Studies and Economics. In terms of academics, I have also received four scholarships in English, History, Statistics and Japanese. I also participated in many club activities, including the Chamber Orchestra and the library team. At the University of Auckland, I continue to thrive in both academics and club activities by re-connecting to my culture through the club Japanese Auckland Meetup+. I am currently the President of this club also, allowing me to gain valuable experiences in leadership.
I have a strong passion for both learning and teaching; something that I’ve experienced as both a student and a tutor. My teaching strategy is to guide the student to the answers rather than simply one-sidedly lecturing them. I believe that true learning comes from understanding the concepts and the methods used to derive the answer. Therefore, my style of teaching adapts depending on who I am tutoring. I endeavour to understand my students and their ways of thinking to build a unique path for them to reach their own answer.
Subjects I can tutor:
• Junior and NCEA Level 1-3 English
• Junior and NCEA Level 1-2 Chemistry
• Junior and NCEA Level 1-3 History
• Junior and NCEA Level 1-3 Business Studies
• Junior Mathematics
• NCEA Level 2-3 Statistics
