Martin Jin

Hello, my name is Martin, an engineering student at the University of

Auckland. I’ve always enjoyed teaching throughout my life—from helping friends to

volunteering as a tutor in my high school. This is because tutoring is very rewarding;

being able to guide students past confusing concepts and helping them avoid the

frustration from hours of being stuck—something I understand firsthand—is very

satisfying. I strive to connect with students, seeing things from their perspective and

teaching engagingly to make learning enjoyable and effective.

Academically, I was a top-five student in my school, earning chemistry and physics

scholarships, as well as the University of Auckland top achiever award. My

experiences that guided me to these achievements gave me confidence in my

tutoring abilities. Beyond academics, I enjoy practicing piano, martial arts, exercising,

occasionally reading, and learning Japanese.

My goal is to create a supportive, personalised learning environment that motivates

students to succeed. I can tutor NCEA (all levels) Physics, Chemistry, and Calculus,

and I would love to get the opportunity to tutor you!
